Resolve TEAL Password Reset Errors

Occasionally, you may experience a challenge when logging in to TEAL with a temporary password or when prompted to update your current password. Four common password reset errors are listed below, along with steps to get help.

Error Message 1: “The client supplied invalid authentication information.”

Problem/Resolution: The Current Password was not entered correctly. Retype your password and hover the cursor over Show Password in order to verify that entries are correct and are the same.

Note that if your password has been reset, enter the temporary password in the “current password” field.

Error Message 2: “Password rejected due to policy violation.”

Problem/Resolution: The new password entered does not meet the password reset rules. Create a password that meets the guidelines.

Your password must be composed of letters, numbers, and special characters – at least one of each. Special characters include the following: #,*, $, @. For security reasons, the system will not permit you to use a password that is the same as any of your previous ten passwords, that contains a variation on the word “password”, or repeats a character three times or more.

Hover the cursor over Show Password in order to confirm your new password meets the guidelines listed.

Error Message 3: “New password verification failed. Make sure both new password fields contain the same data.”

Problem/Resolution: This means that the New Password does not match what was entered in Confirm New Password. Retype your password and hover the cursor over Show Password to verify that entries are correct and are the same.

Note that if your password has been reset, enter the temporary password in the “current password” field.

Place the cursor above Show Password for both fields in order to confirm the new password and new password confirmation fields match.

Once they match, click Submit.

Error Message 4: “One or more of the form arguments is either missing or invalid.”

Problem/Resolution: This means that one of the Password fields has not been filled in. Please double check that all Password fields are correct and complete.
